Terms of Service

1. About the App

Roots of Glory is a FIFA World Cup 2026 companion app that provides heritage storytelling, match tracking, host city guides, and personalized fan experiences. The App connects fans with the cultural and historical roots behind the teams competing in the tournament.

2. Eligibility — Age Requirements

You must be at least 13 years of age to use the App. By using the App, you represent and warrant that you are 13 or older.

If you are between 13 and 18 years of age, you represent that your parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf. Themelios Holding is not responsible for a minor's use of the App without parental consent.

We do not knowingly permit children under 13 to create accounts or use the App. If we learn that a user is under 13, we will delete their account and associated data immediately.

3. The App License

3.1 License Grant

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, Themelios Holding, LLC grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download and use the App on iOS devices that you own or control, solely for your personal, non-commercial purposes.

3.2 License — Not a Sale

The App is licensed to you, not sold. You do not acquire any ownership rights by downloading or using the App. Themelios Holding, LLC retains all ownership, title, and intellectual property rights in and to the App and its content.

3.3 Restrictions

You may not:

• Copy, modify, or create derivative works of the App
• Reverse engineer, disassemble, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the App
• Sell, rent, lease, sublicense, or otherwise transfer the App or your license to any third party
• Use the App for commercial purposes without prior written consent from Themelios Holding
• Remove, alter, or obscure any proprietary notices (copyright, trademark, etc.) on the App
• Use automated tools, bots, or scrapers to access or collect data from the App
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the App, its servers, or related systems
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the App or its infrastructure

4. Account Registration

4.1 Creating an Account

You may create an account using Apple Sign-In, Google Sign-In, or email and password. When you register, you agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information and to keep it updated.

4.2 Account Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at hello@rootsofglory.app if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.

4.3 Guest Use

The App is accessible without an account. Guest users have access to all core content but cannot use personalization features (favorites, notifications, heritage profile).

4.4 Account Deletion

You may delete your account at any time via Profile → Privacy & Data → Delete Account. Account deletion is permanent and irreversible. Upon deletion, your personal data will be removed from our active systems within 30 days, as described in our Privacy Policy.

5. Heritage Data — User Declarations

The App invites you to share the countries your family heritage comes from. This information is:

• Entirely voluntary — you may skip this step
• Self-declared — we do not verify, validate, or authenticate heritage claims
• Used only to personalize your experience within the App
• Not shared with third parties for any purpose other than delivering the App's services

Themelios Holding does not make any judgment about the accuracy of heritage declarations and accepts no liability for any personalization based on information you provide.

6. Sports Data and Content Accuracy

6.1 Third-Party Sports Data

The App displays live scores, match schedules, group standings, squad rosters, and player statistics sourced from third-party APIs (including API-Football / api-sports.io and the FIFA Public API). While we make reasonable efforts to display accurate data, we:

• Do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of sports data
• Are not responsible for errors, delays, or omissions in third-party data feeds
• Are not affiliated with FIFA, any national football federation, or any sports league

Do not rely on the App for officiating, wagering, or any other purpose requiring guaranteed accuracy of sports data.

6.2 Heritage Stories and Editorial Content

Heritage stories, player profiles, host city guides, and cultural content within the App are editorial in nature. They are produced by Themelios Holding or contracted writers. While we strive for accuracy and respectful cultural representation:

• Content is not peer-reviewed academic or journalistic reporting
• Historical facts may contain errors; if you notice an inaccuracy, please report it to hello@rootsofglory.app
• Cultural descriptions reflect editorial perspective and should not be taken as authoritative statements on any culture, community, or national history

6.3 No Endorsement

The App is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by FIFA, the Fédération Internationale de Football Association, any national football federation, the 2026 FIFA World Cup organizing committee, or any participating team. All team names, country names, and tournament references are used for informational and editorial purposes only.

7. Push Notifications and Communications

If you grant permission, we will send push notifications related to match events and content updates. You control notification types individually within the App and can withdraw permission at any time through iOS Settings. Withdrawing notification permission does not delete your account.

If you opt in to email updates, we will send you World Cup news, heritage content, and App announcements. You can unsubscribe at any time via the unsubscribe link in any email or via Profile → Privacy & Data → Email Updates. We do not send marketing emails without your explicit consent.

8. Intellectual Property

8.1 Themelios Holding's Property

All content, features, and functionality within the App — including but not limited to the Roots of Glory name, logo, brand identity, design, heritage stories, editorial text, custom graphics, and software — are the exclusive property of Themelios Holding, LLC and are protected by U.S. and international copyright, trademark, and intellectual property laws.

8.2 Third-Party Content

National flags, team names, country names, and player names are used for informational and editorial purposes and remain the property of their respective owners. Sports statistics and match data are sourced from licensed third-party providers.

8.3 Feedback

If you submit feedback, suggestions, or ideas about the App, you grant Themelios Holding a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable license to use, implement, and commercialize that feedback without compensation to you.

9. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes. You must not:

• Violate any applicable local, national, or international law or regulation
• Engage in any fraudulent, deceptive, or misleading activity
• Attempt to access systems, data, or accounts that you are not authorized to access
• Interfere with, disrupt, or overload the App's servers or infrastructure
• Transmit viruses, malware, or any other harmful code
• Scrape, harvest, or systematically download data from the App
• Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation

10. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By agreeing to these Terms, you also agree to our Privacy Policy.

11. Modifications to the App and Terms

11.1 App Changes

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the App or any part of it at any time, with or without notice. We are not liable to you for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation.

11.2 Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last Updated” date and provide notice via in-app notification or email at least 30 days before changes take effect. Your continued use of the App after the effective date constitutes acceptance. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the App.

12. Termination

12.1 Termination by You

You may stop using the App and delete your account at any time via Profile → Privacy & Data → Delete Account.

12.2 Termination by Themelios Holding

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account and access to the App, at our sole discretion, with or without notice, for:

• Violation of these Terms
• Fraudulent, abusive, or unlawful use of the App
• Conduct that harms other users or the integrity of the App
• Any other reason we deem necessary to protect the App or our users

Upon termination, your license to use the App immediately ceases. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 8, 12, 13, 14, and 15) will survive.

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Themelios Holding, LLC and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your violation of these Terms, your use of the App in violation of applicable law, or any misrepresentation you make.

14. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. You consent to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Florida for any dispute arising from these Terms.

If you are located in the EEA or UK, nothing in these Terms affects your rights under applicable mandatory consumer protection laws in your country of residence.

15. Dispute Resolution

15.1 Informal Resolution

Before filing any formal legal claim, you agree to contact us at hello@rootsofglory.app and attempt to resolve the dispute informally. We will make reasonable efforts to resolve the dispute within 30 days.

15.2 Binding Arbitration

If informal resolution fails, any dispute, claim, or controversy arising from or relating to these Terms or the App shall be resolved by final and binding arbitration under the rules of the American Arbitration Association (AAA) in Winter Haven, Florida. The arbitrator's decision shall be final and binding and may be entered as a judgment in any court of competent jurisdiction.

15.4 Exceptions to Arbitration

Either party may seek injunctive or other equitable relief in a court of competent jurisdiction to prevent actual or threatened infringement, misappropriation, or violation of intellectual property rights.

15.5 EEA/UK Users

If you are a consumer resident in the EEA or UK, mandatory consumer protection laws in your jurisdiction may apply. Nothing in this Section limits those rights.

16. Apple App Store — Additional Terms

The following terms apply because the App is distributed through the Apple App Store:

• Acknowledgment: These Terms are between you and Themelios Holding, LLC only, and not with Apple Inc. (“Apple”). Apple is not responsible for the App or its content.
• Scope of License: The license granted under Section 3 is limited to use on Apple-branded products that you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Terms of Service.
• Maintenance and Support: Themelios Holding, LLC is solely responsible for providing maintenance and support for the App. Apple has no obligation to provide any maintenance or support.
• Warranty: If the App fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any). To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation.
• Product Claims: Themelios Holding, LLC, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims relating to the App, including: (a) product liability claims; (b) any claim that the App fails to conform to legal or regulatory requirements; and (c) claims arising under consumer protection, privacy, or similar legislation.
• Intellectual Property: In the event of any third-party IP infringement claim, Themelios Holding, LLC (not Apple) will be solely responsible for the investigation, defense, settlement, and discharge of any such claim.
• Third-Party Beneficiary: You acknowledge and agree that Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms, and that upon your acceptance, Apple will have the right to enforce these Terms against you as a third-party beneficiary.
• U.S. Export Compliance: You represent and warrant that (a) you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. government embargo or designated as a “terrorist supporting” country, and (b) you are not listed on any U.S. government list of prohibited or restricted parties.

17. Miscellaneous

• Entire Agreement: These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Themelios Holding regarding the Service.
• Severability: If any provision of these Terms is found invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force and effect.
• Waiver: Our failure to enforce any right or provision shall not be deemed a waiver.
• Assignment: You may not assign or transfer these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign our rights and obligations without restriction.
• No Third-Party Beneficiaries (Except Apple): Except as specified in Section 16 (Apple as Third-Party Beneficiary), these Terms do not create any third-party beneficiary rights.
• Force Majeure: Themelios Holding is not liable for failure or delay in performance due to causes beyond its reasonable control, including natural disasters, government actions, internet outages, or third-party service failures.
