Taylor scored his first goal for LA Galaxy in the 33rd minute of a 2–1 home victory over New England Revolution on September 5, giving his new club a cushion that mattered by the finish.
The move brought several players into the picture. According to the Galaxy's match report, Sergi Roberto found Marco Reus on the left before Hirving Lozano's cutback reached Taylor in the middle. Reus and Lozano were credited with assists.
Reus had already put the hosts ahead with an 11th-minute penalty. Taylor's finish sent them into halftime two goals clear, but Carles Gil's penalty in the sixth minute of second-half stoppage time reduced the gap.
The Galaxy held on. Taylor had his first goal for the club, and Los Angeles had three points from a match that ended with little room to spare.
For this Saturday, that was a contribution worth remembering.
